Hugo and the Secret to Happiness Book Review

Photobucket
The kids are very much into everything dinosaurs and fish these days, so I'm always jazzed at a new book on either subject.  Let's see what happen's in our latest book review of: Hugo: The Happy Starfish and the Secret to Happiness.

PhotobucketMommy Moments with Abby Review: Hugo is a Starfish who had a big heart, but doesn't seem to know how to use it properly.  He keeps trying to find happiness and like so many in this world looks for it in a linear pattern.  In the end he finds that sometimes the path to happiness is more of a circle or a curve.  He discovers happiness and in the process how to use his heart.  I enjoyed this story but would place it for more 2 and above.  It means they can sit and listen to the story, maybe they can also answer questions you ask them as you go through the story.  I love to ask kids what they would do if they were the same character in the story.  Another favorite of mine is to have them label things they see on the page or think up related things.  The kids liked this story so much that they talked about it the rest of the day and even told the parents about it as they came to pick up their kids.  You can get one for your own at: http://www.mystarfish.org/hugos-books
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
